1 ἐν ἐκείνῳ τῶ καιρῶ ἐπορεύθη ὁ ἰησοῦς τοῖς σάββασιν διὰ τῶν σπορίμων· οἱ δὲ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ ἐπείνασαν, καὶ ἤρξαντο τίλλειν στάχυας καὶ ἐσθίειν.

2 οἱ δὲ φαρισαῖοι ἰδόντες εἶπαν αὐτῶ, ἰδοὺ οἱ μαθηταί σου ποιοῦσιν ὃ οὐκ ἔξεστιν ποιεῖν ἐν σαββάτῳ.

3 ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, οὐκ ἀνέγνωτε τί ἐποίησεν δαυὶδ ὅτε ἐπείνασεν καὶ οἱ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ;

4 πῶς εἰσῆλθεν εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ τοὺς ἄρτους τῆς προθέσεως ἔφαγον, ὃ οὐκ ἐξὸν ἦν αὐτῶ φαγεῖν οὐδὲ τοῖς μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ, εἰ μὴ τοῖς ἱερεῦσιν μόνοις;

5 ἢ οὐκ ἀνέγνωτε ἐν τῶ νόμῳ ὅτι τοῖς σάββασιν οἱ ἱερεῖς ἐν τῶ ἱερῶ τὸ σάββατον βεβηλοῦσιν καὶ ἀναίτιοί εἰσιν;

6 λέγω δὲ ὑμῖν ὅτι τοῦ ἱεροῦ μεῖζόν ἐστιν ὧδε.

7 εἰ δὲ ἐγνώκειτε τί ἐστιν, ἔλεος θέλω καὶ οὐ θυσίαν, οὐκ ἂν κατεδικάσατε τοὺς ἀναιτίους.

8 κύριος γάρ ἐστιν τοῦ σαββάτου ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου.

9 καὶ μεταβὰς ἐκεῖθεν ἦλθεν εἰς τὴν συναγωγὴν αὐτῶν·

10 καὶ ἰδοὺ ἄνθρωπος χεῖρα ἔχων ξηράν. καὶ ἐπηρώτησαν αὐτὸν λέγοντες, εἰ ἔξεστιν τοῖς σάββασιν θεραπεῦσαι; ἵνα κατηγορήσωσιν αὐτοῦ.

11 ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, τίς ἔσται ἐξ ὑμῶν ἄνθρωπος ὃς ἕξει πρόβατον ἕν, καὶ ἐὰν ἐμπέσῃ τοῦτο τοῖς σάββασιν εἰς βόθυνον, οὐχὶ κρατήσει αὐτὸ καὶ ἐγερεῖ;

12 πόσῳ οὗν διαφέρει ἄνθρωπος προβάτου. ὥστε ἔξεστιν τοῖς σάββασιν καλῶς ποιεῖν.

13 τότε λέγει τῶ ἀνθρώπῳ, ἔκτεινόν σου τὴν χεῖρα. καὶ ἐξέτεινεν, καὶ ἀπεκατεστάθη ὑγιὴς ὡς ἡ ἄλλη.

14 ἐξελθόντες δὲ οἱ φαρισαῖοι συμβούλιον ἔλαβον κατ᾽ αὐτοῦ ὅπως αὐτὸν ἀπολέσωσιν.

15 ὁ δὲ ἰησοῦς γνοὺς ἀνεχώρησεν ἐκεῖθεν. καὶ ἠκολούθησαν αὐτῶ [ὄχλοι] πολλοί, καὶ ἐθεράπευσεν αὐτοὺς πάντας,

16 καὶ ἐπετίμησεν αὐτοῖς ἵνα μὴ φανερὸν αὐτὸν ποιήσωσιν·

17 ἵνα πληρωθῇ τὸ ῥηθὲν διὰ ἠσαΐου τοῦ προφήτου λέγοντος,

18 ἰδοὺ ὁ παῖς μου ὃν ᾑρέτισα, ὁ ἀγαπητός μου εἰς ὃν εὐδόκησεν ἡ ψυχή μου· θήσω τὸ πνεῦμά μου ἐπ᾽ αὐτόν, καὶ κρίσιν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν ἀπαγγελεῖ.

19 οὐκ ἐρίσει οὐδὲ κραυγάσει, οὐδὲ ἀκούσει τις ἐν ταῖς πλατείαις τὴν φωνὴν αὐτοῦ.

20 κάλαμον συντετριμμένον οὐ κατεάξει καὶ λίνον τυφόμενον οὐ σβέσει, ἕως ἂν ἐκβάλῃ εἰς νῖκος τὴν κρίσιν.

21 καὶ τῶ ὀνόματι αὐτοῦ ἔθνη ἐλπιοῦσιν.

22 τότε προσηνέχθη αὐτῶ δαιμονιζόμενος τυφλὸς καὶ κωφός· καὶ ἐθεράπευσεν αὐτόν, ὥστε τὸν κωφὸν λαλεῖν καὶ βλέπειν.

23 καὶ ἐξίσταντο πάντες οἱ ὄχλοι καὶ ἔλεγον, μήτι οὖτός ἐστιν ὁ υἱὸς δαυίδ;

24 οἱ δὲ φαρισαῖοι ἀκούσαντες εἶπον, οὖτος οὐκ ἐκβάλλει τὰ δαιμόνια εἰ μὴ ἐν τῶ βεελζεβοὺλ ἄρχοντι τῶν δαιμονίων.

25 εἰδὼς δὲ τὰς ἐνθυμήσεις αὐτῶν εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, πᾶσα βασιλεία μερισθεῖσα καθ᾽ ἑαυτῆς ἐρημοῦται, καὶ πᾶσα πόλις ἢ οἰκία μερισθεῖσα καθ᾽ ἑαυτῆς οὐ σταθήσεται.

26 καὶ εἰ ὁ σατανᾶς τὸν σατανᾶν ἐκβάλλει, ἐφ᾽ ἑαυτὸν ἐμερίσθη· πῶς οὗν σταθήσεται ἡ βασιλεία αὐτοῦ;

27 καὶ εἰ ἐγὼ ἐν βεελζεβοὺλ ἐκβάλλω τὰ δαιμόνια, οἱ υἱοὶ ὑμῶν ἐν τίνι ἐκβάλλουσιν; διὰ τοῦτο αὐτοὶ κριταὶ ἔσονται ὑμῶν.

28 εἰ δὲ ἐν πνεύματι θεοῦ ἐγὼ ἐκβάλλω τὰ δαιμόνια, ἄρα ἔφθασεν ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ.

29 ἢ πῶς δύναταί τις εἰσελθεῖν εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν τοῦ ἰσχυροῦ καὶ τὰ σκεύη αὐτοῦ ἁρπάσαι, ἐὰν μὴ πρῶτον δήσῃ τὸν ἰσχυρόν; καὶ τότε τὴν οἰκίαν αὐτοῦ διαρπάσει.

30 ὁ μὴ ὢν μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ κατ᾽ ἐμοῦ ἐστιν, καὶ ὁ μὴ συνάγων μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ σκορπίζει.

31 διὰ τοῦτο λέγω ὑμῖν, πᾶσα ἁμαρτία καὶ βλασφημία ἀφεθήσεται τοῖς ἀνθρώποις, ἡ δὲ τοῦ πνεύματος βλασφημία οὐκ ἀφεθήσεται.

32 καὶ ὃς ἐὰν εἴπῃ λόγον κατὰ τοῦ υἱοῦ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου, ἀφεθήσεται αὐτῶ· ὃς δ᾽ ἂν εἴπῃ κατὰ τοῦ πνεύματος τοῦ ἁγίου, οὐκ ἀφεθήσεται αὐτῶ οὔτε ἐν τούτῳ τῶ αἰῶνι οὔτε ἐν τῶ μέλλοντι.

33 ἢ ποιήσατε τὸ δένδρον καλὸν καὶ τὸν καρπὸν αὐτοῦ καλόν, ἢ ποιήσατε τὸ δένδρον σαπρὸν καὶ τὸν καρπὸν αὐτοῦ σαπρόν· ἐκ γὰρ τοῦ καρποῦ τὸ δένδρον γινώσκεται.

34 γεννήματα ἐχιδνῶν, πῶς δύνασθε ἀγαθὰ λαλεῖν πονηροὶ ὄντες; ἐκ γὰρ τοῦ περισσεύματος τῆς καρδίας τὸ στόμα λαλεῖ.

35 ὁ ἀγαθὸς ἄνθρωπος ἐκ τοῦ ἀγαθοῦ θησαυροῦ ἐκβάλλει ἀγαθά, καὶ ὁ πονηρὸς ἄνθρωπος ἐκ τοῦ πονηροῦ θησαυροῦ ἐκβάλλει πονηρά.

36 λέγω δὲ ὑμῖν ὅτι πᾶν ῥῆμα ἀργὸν ὃ λαλήσουσιν οἱ ἄνθρωποι ἀποδώσουσιν περὶ αὐτοῦ λόγον ἐν ἡμέρᾳ κρίσεως·

37 ἐκ γὰρ τῶν λόγων σου δικαιωθήσῃ, καὶ ἐκ τῶν λόγων σου καταδικασθήσῃ.

38 τότε ἀπεκρίθησαν αὐτῶ τινες τῶν γραμματέων καὶ φαρισαίων λέγοντες, διδάσκαλε, θέλομεν ἀπὸ σοῦ σημεῖον ἰδεῖν.

39 ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, γενεὰ πονηρὰ καὶ μοιχαλὶς σημεῖον ἐπιζητεῖ, καὶ σημεῖον οὐ δοθήσεται αὐτῇ εἰ μὴ τὸ σημεῖον ἰωνᾶ τοῦ προφήτου.

40 ὥσπερ γὰρ ἦν ἰωνᾶς ἐν τῇ κοιλίᾳ τοῦ κήτους τρεῖς ἡμέρας καὶ τρεῖς νύκτας, οὕτως ἔσται ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ τῆς γῆς τρεῖς ἡμέρας καὶ τρεῖς νύκτας.

41 ἄνδρες νινευῖται ἀναστήσονται ἐν τῇ κρίσει μετὰ τῆς γενεᾶς ταύτης καὶ κατακρινοῦσιν αὐτήν· ὅτι μετενόησαν εἰς τὸ κήρυγμα ἰωνᾶ, καὶ ἰδοὺ πλεῖον ἰωνᾶ ὧδε.

42 βασίλισσα νότου ἐγερθήσεται ἐν τῇ κρίσει μετὰ τῆς γενεᾶς ταύτης καὶ κατακρινεῖ αὐτήν· ὅτι ἦλθεν ἐκ τῶν περάτων τῆς γῆς ἀκοῦσαι τὴν σοφίαν σολομῶνος, καὶ ἰδοὺ πλεῖον σολομῶνος ὧδε.

43 ὅταν δὲ τὸ ἀκάθαρτον πνεῦμα ἐξέλθῃ ἀπὸ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου, διέρχεται δι᾽ ἀνύδρων τόπων ζητοῦν ἀνάπαυσιν, καὶ οὐχ εὑρίσκει.

44 τότε λέγει, εἰς τὸν οἶκόν μου ἐπιστρέψω ὅθεν ἐξῆλθον· καὶ ἐλθὸν εὑρίσκει σχολάζοντα σεσαρωμένον καὶ κεκοσμημένον.

45 τότε πορεύεται καὶ παραλαμβάνει μεθ᾽ ἑαυτοῦ ἑπτὰ ἕτερα πνεύματα πονηρότερα ἑαυτοῦ, καὶ εἰσελθόντα κατοικεῖ ἐκεῖ· καὶ γίνεται τὰ ἔσχατα τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐκείνου χείρονα τῶν πρώτων. οὕτως ἔσται καὶ τῇ γενεᾷ ταύτῃ τῇ πονηρᾷ.

46 ἔτι αὐτοῦ λαλοῦντος τοῖς ὄχλοις ἰδοὺ ἡ μήτηρ καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ εἱστήκεισαν ἔξω ζητοῦντες αὐτῶ λαλῆσαι.

47 [εἶπεν δέ τις αὐτῶ, ἰδοὺ ἡ μήτηρ σου καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοί σου ἔξω ἑστήκασιν ζητοῦντές σοι λαλῆσαι.]

48 ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν τῶ λέγοντι αὐτῶ, τίς ἐστιν ἡ μήτηρ μου, καὶ τίνες εἰσὶν οἱ ἀδελφοί μου;

49 καὶ ἐκτείνας τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ εἶπεν, ἰδοὺ ἡ μήτηρ μου καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοί μου·

50 ὅστις γὰρ ἂν ποιήσῃ τὸ θέλημα τοῦ πατρός μου τοῦ ἐν οὐρανοῖς αὐτός μου ἀδελφὸς καὶ ἀδελφὴ καὶ μήτηρ ἐστίν.

1  At¹⁷²² that¹⁵⁶⁵ time²⁵⁴⁰ Jesus²⁴²⁴ went⁴¹⁹⁸ on the³⁵⁸⁸ sabbath day⁴⁵²¹ through¹²²³ the³⁵⁸⁸ corn;⁴⁷⁰² and²⁵³² his⁸⁴⁶ disciples³¹⁰¹ were hungry,³⁹⁸³ and²⁵³² began⁷⁵⁶ to pluck⁵⁰⁸⁹ the ears of corn,⁴⁷¹⁹ and²⁵³² to eat.²⁰⁶⁸

3  But¹¹⁶¹ he³⁵⁸⁸ said²⁰³⁶ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ Have ye not³⁷⁵⁶ read³¹⁴ what⁵¹⁰¹ David¹¹³⁸ did,⁴¹⁶⁰ when³⁷⁵³ he⁸⁴⁶ was hungry,³⁹⁸³ and²⁵³² they³⁵⁸⁸ that were with³³²⁶ him;⁸⁴⁶

6  But¹¹⁶¹ I say³⁰⁰⁴ unto you,⁵²¹³ That³⁷⁵⁴ in this place⁵⁶⁰² is²⁰⁷⁶ one greater³¹⁸⁷ than the³⁵⁸⁸ temple.²⁴¹¹

7  But¹¹⁶¹ if¹⁴⁸⁷ ye had known¹⁰⁹⁷ what⁵¹⁰¹ this meaneth,²⁰⁷⁶ I will²³⁰⁹ have mercy,¹⁶⁵⁶ and²⁵³² not³⁷⁵⁶ sacrifice,²³⁷⁸ ye would not³⁷⁵⁶ have condemned²⁶¹³ the³⁵⁸⁸ guiltless.³³⁸

8  For¹⁰⁶³ the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ of man⁴⁴⁴ is²⁰⁷⁶ Lord²⁹⁶² even²⁵³² of the³⁵⁸⁸ sabbath day.⁴⁵²¹

9  And²⁵³² when he was departed³³²⁷ thence,¹⁵⁶⁴ he went²⁰⁶⁴ into¹⁵¹⁹ their⁸⁴⁶ synagogue:⁴⁸⁶⁴

10  And,²⁵³² behold,²⁴⁰⁰ there was²²⁵⁸ a man⁴⁴⁴ which had²¹⁹² his hand⁵⁴⁹⁵ withered.³⁵⁸⁴ And²⁵³² they asked¹⁹⁰⁵ him,⁸⁴⁶ saying,^{3004 1487} Is it lawful¹⁸³² to heal²³²³ on the³⁵⁸⁸ sabbath days?⁴⁵²¹ that²⁴⁴³ they might accuse²⁷²³ him.⁸⁴⁶

11  And¹¹⁶¹ he³⁵⁸⁸ said²⁰³⁶ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ What⁵¹⁰¹ man⁴⁴⁴ shall there be²⁰⁷¹ among¹⁵³⁷ you,⁵²¹⁶ that³⁷³⁹ shall have²¹⁹² one¹⁵²⁰ sheep,⁴²⁶³ and²⁵³² if¹⁴³⁷ it⁵¹²⁴ fall¹⁷⁰⁶ into¹⁵¹⁹ a pit⁹⁹⁹ on the³⁵⁸⁸ sabbath day,⁴⁵²¹ will he not³⁷⁸⁰ lay hold²⁹⁰² on it,⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² lift it out?¹⁴⁵³

12  How much⁴²¹⁴ then³⁷⁶⁷ is a man better^{1308 444} than a sheep?⁴²⁶³ Wherefore⁵⁶²⁰ it is lawful¹⁸³² to do⁴¹⁶⁰ well²⁵⁷³ on the³⁵⁸⁸ sabbath days.⁴⁵²¹

13  Then⁵¹¹⁹ saith³⁰⁰⁴ he to the³⁵⁸⁸ man,⁴⁴⁴ Stretch forth¹⁶¹⁴ thine⁴⁶⁷⁵ hand. And⁵⁴⁹⁵ he²⁵³² stretched it forth;¹⁶¹⁴ and²⁵³² it was restored⁶⁰⁰ whole,⁵¹⁹⁹ like as⁵⁶¹³ the³⁵⁸⁸ other.²⁴³

14  Then¹¹⁶¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ Pharisees⁵³³⁰ went out,¹⁸³¹ and held²⁹⁸³ a council⁴⁸²⁴ against²⁵⁹⁶ him,⁸⁴⁶ how³⁷⁰⁴ they might destroy⁶²² him.⁸⁴⁶

15  But¹¹⁶¹ when Jesus²⁴²⁴ knew¹⁰⁹⁷ it, he withdrew⁴⁰² himself from thence:¹⁵⁶⁴ and²⁵³² great⁴¹⁸³ multitudes³⁷⁹³ followed¹⁹⁰ him,⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² he healed²³²³ them⁸⁴⁶ all;³⁹⁵⁶

16  And²⁵³² charged²⁰⁰⁸ them⁸⁴⁶ that²⁴⁴³ they should not³³⁶¹ make⁴¹⁶⁰ him⁸⁴⁶ known:⁵³¹⁸

17  That³⁷⁰⁴ it might be fulfilled⁴¹³⁷ which was spoken⁴⁴⁸³ by¹²²³ Isaiah²²⁶⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ prophet,⁴³⁹⁶ saying,³⁰⁰⁴

18  Behold²⁴⁰⁰ my³⁴⁵⁰ servant,³⁸¹⁶ whom³⁷³⁹ I have chosen;¹⁴⁰ my³⁴⁵⁰ beloved,²⁷ in¹⁵¹⁹ whom³⁷³⁹ my¹⁵¹⁹ soul⁵⁵⁹⁰ is well pleased:²¹⁰⁶ I will put⁵⁰⁸⁷ my³⁴⁵⁰ spirit⁴¹⁵¹ upon¹⁹⁰⁹ him,⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² he shall show⁵¹⁸ judgment²⁹²⁰ to the³⁵⁸⁸ Gentiles.¹⁴⁸⁴

19  He shall not³⁷⁵⁶ strive,²⁰⁵¹ nor³⁷⁶¹ cry;²⁹⁰⁵ neither³⁷⁶¹ shall any man⁵¹⁰⁰ hear¹⁹¹ his⁸⁴⁶ voice⁵⁴⁵⁶ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ streets.⁴¹¹³

20  A bruised⁴⁹³⁷ reed²⁵⁶³ shall he not³⁷⁵⁶ break,²⁶⁰⁸ and²⁵³² smoking⁵¹⁸⁸ flax³⁰⁴³ shall he not³⁷⁵⁶ quench,⁴⁵⁷⁰ till^{2193 302} he send forth¹⁵⁴⁴ judgment²⁹²⁰ unto¹⁵¹⁹ victory.³⁵³⁴

21  And²⁵³² in¹⁷²² his⁸⁴⁶ name³⁶⁸⁶ shall the Gentiles¹⁴⁸⁴ trust.¹⁶⁷⁹

22  Then⁵¹¹⁹ was brought⁴³⁷⁴ unto him⁸⁴⁶ one possessed with a devil,¹¹³⁹ blind,⁵¹⁸⁵ and²⁵³² dumb:²⁹⁷⁴ and²⁵³² he healed²³²³ him,⁸⁴⁶ insomuch that⁵⁶²⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ blind⁵¹⁸⁵ and²⁵³² dumb²⁹⁷⁴ both²⁵³² spake²⁹⁸⁰ and²⁵³² saw.¹⁹¹

23  And²⁵³² all³⁹⁵⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ people³⁷⁹³ were amazed,¹⁸³⁹ and²⁵³² said,³⁰⁰⁴ Is²⁰⁷⁶ not³³⁸⁵ this³⁷⁷⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ son⁵²⁰⁷ of David?¹¹³⁸

24  But¹¹⁶¹ when the³⁵⁸⁸ Pharisees⁵³³⁰ heard¹⁹¹ it, they said,²⁰³⁶ This³⁷⁷⁸ fellow doth not³⁷⁵⁶ cast out¹⁵⁴⁴ devils,¹¹⁴⁰ but¹⁵⁰⁸ by¹⁷²² Beelzebub⁹⁵⁴ the prince⁷⁵⁸ of the³⁵⁸⁸ devils.¹¹⁴⁰

25  And¹¹⁶¹ Jesus²⁴²⁴ knew¹⁴⁹² their⁸⁴⁶ thoughts,¹⁷⁶¹ and said²⁰³⁶ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ Every³⁹⁵⁶ kingdom⁹³² divided³³⁰⁷ against²⁵⁹⁶ itself¹⁴³⁸ is brought to desolation;²⁰⁴⁹ and²⁵³² every³⁹⁵⁶ city⁴¹⁷² or²²²⁸ house³⁶¹⁴ divided³³⁰⁷ against²⁵⁹⁶ itself¹⁴³⁸ shall not³⁷⁵⁶ stand:²⁴⁷⁶

26  And²⁵³² if¹⁴⁸⁷ Satan⁴⁵⁶⁷ cast out¹⁵⁴⁴ Satan,⁴⁵⁶⁷ he is divided³³⁰⁷ against¹⁹⁰⁹ himself;¹⁴³⁸ how⁴⁴⁵⁹ shall then³⁷⁶⁷ his⁸⁴⁶ kingdom⁹³² stand?²⁴⁷⁶

27  And²⁵³² if¹⁴⁸⁷ I¹⁴⁷³ by¹⁷²² Beelzebub⁹⁵⁴ cast out¹⁵⁴⁴ devils,¹¹⁴⁰ by¹⁷²² whom⁵¹⁰¹ do your⁵²¹⁶ children⁵²⁰⁷ cast them out?¹⁵⁴⁴ therefore^{1223 5124} they⁸⁴⁶ shall be²⁰⁷¹ your⁵²¹⁶ judges.²⁹²³

28  But¹¹⁶¹ if¹⁴⁸⁷ I¹⁴⁷³ cast out¹⁵⁴⁴ devils¹¹⁴⁰ by¹⁷²² the Spirit⁴¹⁵¹ of God,²³¹⁶ then⁶⁸⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ kingdom⁹³² of God²³¹⁶ is come⁵³⁴⁸ unto¹⁹⁰⁹ you.⁵²⁰⁹

29  Or else²²²⁸ how⁴⁴⁵⁹ can¹⁴¹⁰ one⁵¹⁰⁰ enter¹⁵²⁵ into¹⁵¹⁹ a strong man's²⁴⁷⁸ house,³⁶¹⁴ and²⁵³² spoil¹²⁸³ his⁸⁴⁶ goods,⁴⁶³² except³³⁶² he first⁴⁴¹² bind¹²¹⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ strong man²⁴⁷⁸ and²⁵³² then⁵¹¹⁹ he will spoil¹²⁸³ his⁸⁴⁶ house.³⁶¹⁴

30  He that is⁵⁶⁰⁷ not³³⁶¹ with³³²⁶ me¹⁷⁰⁰ is²⁰⁷⁶ against²⁵⁹⁶ me;¹⁷⁰⁰ and²⁵³² he that gathereth⁴⁸⁶³ not³³⁶¹ with³³²⁶ me¹⁷⁰⁰ scattereth abroad.⁴⁶⁵⁰

31  Wherefore^{1223 5124} I say³⁰⁰⁴ unto you,⁵²¹³ All manner³⁹⁵⁶ of sin²⁶⁶ and²⁵³² blasphemy⁹⁸⁸ shall be forgiven⁸⁶³ unto men:⁴⁴⁴ but¹¹⁶¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ blasphemy⁹⁸⁸ against the³⁵⁸⁸ Holy Ghost⁴¹⁵¹ shall not³⁷⁵⁶ be forgiven⁸⁶³ unto men.⁴⁴⁴

32  And²⁵³² whosoever^{3739 302} speaketh²⁰³⁶ a word³⁰⁵⁶ against²⁵⁹⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ of man,⁴⁴⁴ it shall be forgiven⁸⁶³ him:⁸⁴⁶ but¹¹⁶¹ whosoever^{3739 302} speaketh²⁰³⁶ against²⁵⁹⁶ the³⁵⁸⁸ Holy⁴⁰ Ghost,⁴¹⁵¹ it shall not³⁷⁵⁶ be forgiven⁸⁶³ him,⁸⁴⁶ neither³⁷⁷⁷ in¹⁷²² this⁵¹²⁹ world,¹⁶⁵ neither³⁷⁷⁷ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ world to come.³¹⁹⁵

33  Either²²²⁸ make⁴¹⁶⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ tree¹¹⁸⁶ good,²⁵⁷⁰ and²⁵³² his⁸⁴⁶ fruit²⁵⁹⁰ good;²⁵⁷⁰ or else²²²⁸ make⁴¹⁶⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ tree¹¹⁸⁶ corrupt,⁴⁵⁵⁰ and²⁵³² his⁸⁴⁶ fruit²⁵⁹⁰ corrupt:⁴⁵⁵⁰ for¹⁰⁶³ the³⁵⁸⁸ tree¹¹⁸⁶ is known¹⁰⁹⁷ by¹⁵³⁷ his fruit.²⁵⁹⁰

34  O generation¹⁰⁸¹ of vipers,²¹⁹¹ how⁴⁴⁵⁹ can¹⁴¹⁰ ye, being⁵⁶⁰⁷ evil,⁴¹⁹⁰ speak²⁹⁸⁰ good things?¹⁸ for¹⁰⁶³ out¹⁵³⁷ of the³⁵⁸⁸ abundance⁴⁰⁵¹ of the³⁵⁸⁸ heart²⁵⁸⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ mouth⁴⁷⁵⁰ speaketh.²⁹⁸⁰

35  A good¹⁸ man⁴⁴⁴ out¹⁵³⁷ of the³⁵⁸⁸ good¹⁸ treasure²³⁴⁴ of the³⁵⁸⁸ heart²⁵⁸⁸ bringeth forth¹⁵⁴⁴ good things:¹⁸ and²⁵³² an evil⁴¹⁹⁰ man⁴⁴⁴ out of¹⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ evil⁴¹⁹⁰ treasure²³⁴⁴ bringeth forth¹⁵⁴⁴ evil things.⁴¹⁹⁰

36  But¹¹⁶¹ I say³⁰⁰⁴ unto you,⁵²¹³ That³⁷⁵⁴ every³⁹⁵⁶ idle⁶⁹² word⁴⁴⁸⁷ that^{3739 1437} men⁴⁴⁴ shall speak,²⁹⁸⁰ they shall give⁵⁹¹ account³⁰⁵⁶ thereof^{4012 846} in¹⁷²² the day²²⁵⁰ of judgment.²⁹²⁰

37  For¹⁰⁶³ by¹⁵³⁷ thy⁴⁶⁷⁵ words³⁰⁵⁶ thou shalt be justified,¹³⁴⁴ and²⁵³² by¹⁵³⁷ thy⁴⁶⁷⁵ words³⁰⁵⁶ thou shalt be condemned.²⁶¹³

38  Then⁵¹¹⁹ certain⁵¹⁰⁰ of the³⁵⁸⁸ scribes¹¹²² and²⁵³² of the Pharisees⁵³³⁰ answered,⁶¹¹ saying,³⁰⁰⁴ Master,¹³²⁰ we would²³⁰⁹ see¹⁴⁹² a sign⁴⁵⁹² from⁵⁷⁵ thee.⁴⁶⁷⁵

39  But¹¹⁶¹ he³⁵⁸⁸ answered⁶¹¹ and said²⁰³⁶ unto them,⁸⁴⁶ An evil⁴¹⁹⁰ and²⁵³² adulterous³⁴²⁸ generation¹⁰⁷⁴ seeketh after¹⁹³⁴ a sign;⁴⁵⁹² and²⁵³² there shall no³⁷⁵⁶ sign⁴⁵⁹² be given¹³²⁵ to it,⁸⁴⁶ but¹⁵⁰⁸ the³⁵⁸⁸ sign⁴⁵⁹² of the³⁵⁸⁸ prophet⁴³⁹⁶ Jonah:²⁴⁹⁵

40  For¹⁰⁶³ as⁵⁶¹⁸ Jonah²⁴⁹⁵ was²²⁵⁸ three⁵¹⁴⁰ days²²⁵⁰ and²⁵³² three⁵¹⁴⁰ nights³⁵⁷¹ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ whale's²⁷⁸⁵ belly;²⁸³⁶ so³⁷⁷⁹ shall the³⁵⁸⁸ Son⁵²⁰⁷ of man⁴⁴⁴ be²⁰⁷¹ three⁵¹⁴⁰ days²²⁵⁰ and²⁵³² three⁵¹⁴⁰ nights³⁵⁷¹ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ heart²⁵⁸⁸ of the³⁵⁸⁸ earth.¹⁰⁹³

41  The men⁴³⁵ of Nineveh³⁵³⁶ shall rise⁴⁵⁰ in¹⁷²² judgment²⁹²⁰ with³³²⁶ this⁵⁰²⁶ generation,¹⁰⁷⁴ and²⁵³² shall condemn²⁶³² it:⁸⁴⁶ because³⁷⁵⁴ they repented³³⁴⁰ at¹⁵¹⁹ the³⁵⁸⁸ preaching²⁷⁸² of Jonah;²⁴⁹⁵ and,²⁵³² behold,²⁴⁰⁰ a greater⁴¹¹⁹ than Jonah²⁴⁹⁵ is here.⁵⁶⁰²

42  The queen⁹³⁸ of the south³⁵⁵⁸ shall rise up¹⁴⁵³ in¹⁷²² the³⁵⁸⁸ judgment²⁹²⁰ with³³²⁶ this⁵⁰²⁶ generation,¹⁰⁷⁴ and²⁵³² shall condemn²⁶³² it:⁸⁴⁶ for³⁷⁵⁴ she came²⁰⁶⁴ from¹⁵³⁷ the³⁵⁸⁸ uttermost parts⁴⁰⁰⁹ of the³⁵⁸⁸ earth¹⁰⁹³ to hear¹⁹¹ the³⁵⁸⁸ wisdom⁴⁶⁷⁸ of Solomon;⁴⁶⁷² and,²⁵³² behold,²⁴⁰⁰ a greater⁴¹¹⁹ than Solomon⁴⁶⁷² is here.⁵⁶⁰²

43  When³⁷⁵² the³⁵⁸⁸ unclean¹⁶⁹ spirit⁴¹⁵¹ is gone¹⁸³¹ out of⁵⁷⁵ a man,⁴⁴⁴ he walketh¹³³⁰ through¹²²³ dry⁵⁰⁴ places,⁵¹¹⁷ seeking²²¹² rest,³⁷² and²⁵³² findeth²¹⁴⁷ none.³⁷⁵⁶

44  Then⁵¹¹⁹ he saith,³⁰⁰⁴ I will return¹⁹⁹⁴ into¹⁵¹⁹ my³⁴⁵⁰ house³⁶²⁴ from whence³⁶⁰⁶ I came out;¹⁸³¹ and²⁵³² when he is come,²⁰⁶⁴ he findeth²¹⁴⁷ it empty,⁴⁹⁸⁰ swept,⁴⁵⁶³ and²⁵³² garnished.²⁸⁸⁵

45  Then⁵¹¹⁹ goeth⁴¹⁹⁸ he, and²⁵³² taketh³⁸⁸⁰ with³³²⁶ himself¹⁴³⁸ seven²⁰³³ other²⁰⁸⁷ spirits⁴¹⁵¹ more wicked⁴¹⁹¹ than himself,¹⁴³⁸ and²⁵³² they enter in¹⁵²⁵ and dwell²⁷³⁰ there:¹⁵⁶³ and²⁵³² the³⁵⁸⁸ last²⁰⁷⁸ state of that¹⁵⁶⁵ man⁴⁴⁴ is¹⁰⁹⁶ worse⁵⁵⁰¹ than the³⁵⁸⁸ first.⁴⁴¹³ Even so³⁷⁷⁹ shall it be²⁰⁷¹ also²⁵³² unto this⁵⁰²⁶ wicked⁴¹⁹⁰ generation.¹⁰⁷⁴

46  While¹¹⁶¹ he⁸⁴⁶ yet²⁰⁸⁹ talked²⁹⁸⁰ to the³⁵⁸⁸ people,³⁷⁹³ behold,²⁴⁰⁰ his mother³³⁸⁴ and²⁵³² his⁸⁴⁶ brethren⁸⁰ stood²⁴⁷⁶ without,¹⁸⁵⁴ desiring²²¹² to speak²⁹⁸⁰ with him.⁸⁴⁶

47  Then¹¹⁶¹ one⁵¹⁰⁰ said²⁰³⁶ unto him,⁸⁴⁶ Behold,²⁴⁰⁰ thy⁴⁶⁷⁵ mother³³⁸⁴ and²⁵³² thy⁴⁶⁷⁵ brethren⁸⁰ stand²⁴⁷⁶ without,¹⁸⁵⁴ desiring²²¹² to speak²⁹⁸⁰ with thee.⁴⁶⁷¹

48  But¹¹⁶¹ he³⁵⁸⁸ answered⁶¹¹ and said²⁰³⁶ unto him that told²⁰³⁶ him,⁸⁴⁶ Who⁵¹⁰¹ is²⁰⁷⁶ my³⁴⁵⁰ mother?³³⁸⁴ and²⁵³² who⁵¹⁰¹ are¹⁵²⁶ my³⁴⁵⁰ brethren?⁸⁰

49  And²⁵³² he stretched forth¹⁶¹⁴ his⁸⁴⁸ hand⁵⁴⁹⁵ toward¹⁹⁰⁹ his⁸⁴⁸ disciples,³¹⁰¹ and said,²⁰³⁶ Behold²⁴⁰⁰ my³⁴⁵⁰ mother³³⁸⁴ and²⁵³² my³⁴⁵⁰ brethren!⁸⁰

50  For¹⁰⁶³ whosoever³⁷⁴⁸ shall do⁴¹⁶⁰ the³⁵⁸⁸ will²³⁰⁷ of my³⁴⁵⁰ Father³⁹⁶² which³⁵⁸⁸ is in¹⁷²² heaven,³⁷⁷² the same⁸⁴⁶ is²⁰⁷⁶ my³⁴⁵⁰ brother,⁸⁰ and²⁵³² sister,⁷⁹ and²⁵³² mother.³³⁸⁴

27 Et si ego in Beelzebub ejicio dæmones, filii vestri in quo ejiciunt? ideo ipsi judices vestri erunt.

28 Si autem ego in Spiritu Dei ejicio dæmones, igitur pervenit in vos regnum Dei.

29 Aut quomodo potest quisquam intrare in domum fortis, et vasa ejus diripere, nisi prius alligaverit fortem? et tunc domum illius diripiet.

30 Qui non est mecum, contra me est; et qui non congregat mihi, spargit.

31 Ideo dico vobis: Omne peccatum et blasphemia remittetur hominibus, Spiritus autem blasphemia non remittetur.

32 Et quicumque dixerit verbum contra Filium hominis, remittetur ei: qui autem dixerit contra Spiritum Sanctum, non remittetur ei, neque in hoc sæculo, neque in futuro.

33 Aut facite arborem bonam, et fructum ejus bonum: aut facite arborem malam, et fructum ejus malum: siquidem ex fructu arbor agnoscitur.

34 Progenies viperarum, quomodo potestis bona loqui, cum sitis mali? ex abundantia enim cordis os loquitur.

35 Bonus homo de bono thesauro profert bona: et malus homo de malo thesauro profert mala.

36 Dico autem vobis quoniam omne verbum otiosum, quod locuti fuerint homines, reddent rationem de eo in die judicii.

37 Ex verbis enim tuis justificaberis et ex verbis tuis condemnaberis.

38 Tunc responderunt ei quidam de scribis et pharisæis, dicentes: Magister, volumus a te signum videre.

39 Qui respondens ait illis: Generatio mala et adultera signum quærit: et signum non dabitur ei, nisi signum Jonæ prophetæ.

40 Sicut enim fuit Jonas in ventre ceti tribus diebus, et tribus noctibus, sic erit Filius hominis in corde terræ tribus diebus et tribus noctibus.

41 Viri Ninivitæ surgent in judicio cum generatione ista, et condemnabunt eam: quia pœnitentiam egerunt in prædicatione Jonæ, et ecce plus quam Jonas hic.

42 Regina austri surget in judicio cum generatione ista, et condemnabit eam: quia venit a finibus terræ audire sapientiam Salomonis, et ecce plus quam Salomon hic.

43 Cum autem immundus spiritus exierit ab homine, ambulat per loca arida, quærens requiem, et non invenit.

44 Tunc dicit: Revertar in domum meam, unde exivi. Et veniens invenit eam vacantem, scopis mundatam, et ornatam.

45 Tunc vadit, et assumit septem alios spiritus secum nequiores se, et intrantes habitant ibi: et fiunt novissima hominis illius pejora prioribus. Sic erit et generationi huic pessimæ.

46 Adhuc eo loquente ad turbas, ecce mater ejus et fratres stabant foris, quærentes loqui ei.

47 Dixit autem ei quidam: Ecce mater tua, et fratres tui foris stant quærentes te.

48 At ipse respondens dicenti sibi, ait: Quæ est mater mea, et qui sunt fratres mei?

49 Et extendens manum in discipulos suos, dixit: Ecce mater mea, et fratres mei.

50 Quicumque enim fecerit voluntatem Patris mei, qui in cælis est, ipse meus frater, et soror, et mater est.
